How DashOrNOT Works

Basic Scan (Instant)

Point your camera at your dashboard. AI reads the photo and identifies every illuminated warning light, indicator, and symbol:

• Symbol name and description
• Color the light is glowing (red, amber, green, blue, white)
• What it likely indicates

Deep Diagnose (AI Search)

Tap "Diagnose" for a comprehensive AI breakdown of each warning light:

• Severity rating: CRITICAL, WARNING, or INFO
• Exact light name and what system it relates to
• Common causes and estimated repair costs
• Whether it's safe to keep driving
• Vehicle-specific meanings (when VIN is provided)
• Known TSBs and common issues for your vehicle

VIN for Better Results

Dashboard lights are not universal. The same icon can mean different things on different vehicles. When you enter your VIN, DashOrNOT decodes your exact year, make, and model for vehicle-specific diagnosis.

Light Color Meanings

• Red — Critical. Stop driving immediately or as soon as safely possible.
• Amber/Yellow — Caution. Service needed soon, but typically safe to drive short distances.
• Green — Informational. System is active and working normally (turn signals, cruise control).
• Blue — Informational. Typically high beams or cold engine indicator.

Your Privacy

DashOrNOT uses a Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) architecture. Your phone talks directly to the AI (Groq). There is no DashOrNOT server — just static code on Cloudflare's CDN. We never see your API key, your dashboard photos, your VIN, or your results.
